Simonas Vakaris Savickas

Founder & Lead Creative

Simonas Vakaris Savickas

I founded Story Craft, and I still work on the productions — across creative direction, production and post, turning an early brief into something people actually want to watch.

Let’s talk Start a project

How it started

There was no business plan.

I picked up a camera at nine and started putting things on YouTube. What followed was years of editing, live production and client work — the unglamorous part, and the part that taught me most.

Story Craft took shape when the work stopped fitting the word freelancer. Single-person shoots became coordinated productions. Local projects became campaigns for brands people recognise. The company grew because the briefs did.

I still stay close to the work, from the first conversation to the final export. But it is built so that each project brings in the people it actually needs — not whoever happens to be free.

Point of view

How I think about the work

01

Start with what the work has to do.

A format follows its audience and where it will be watched — a feed, a stage, a lecture hall. Not whatever look is going round this year.

02

Ambitious on screen, calm behind it.

Preparation is what buys a crew room to think on the day. A shoot that is scrambling is not making creative decisions, it is making compromises.

03

Stay close until the last export.

Edit, sound, graphics and the versions a campaign actually ships are part of the idea — not admin that happens after it.
